Floating

I stand on the edge, ready to take the final step.
Ready to finally let go, and let all these burdens be lifted.
Take off the pressure and leap into the unknown.

Unfurl my wings and for a moment I feel free.
All I have to do is reach out, reach into the heavens.

One final step and I could leave it all behind.
A single lead and I could be carried away by the current,
floating from one place to the next.
Let myself be carried away to a distanct ocean.

Yet my feet have grown to attached to the rock; However much I
want to leap, I am compelled to stay.

What do I hope to find, what lurks beyond my grasp, always?
Just outside my perception in the fog. It calls and draws me nearer.
But forever out of reach.
